A rule that decides how much control you get
One sentence in the published rules of Gates of Olympus Super Scatter shapes everything else about the game: the SUPER SCATTER symbol does not appear during the standard Free Spins round. It is on the reels in the base game, it is on the reels in Super Free Spins, but in the middle mode it is simply withdrawn. The consequence is a deliberate split in how much influence the player can exercise. The ordinary path to Free Spins, four or more Scatter symbols landing anywhere on the 6-reel, 5-row grid, remains open at all times, but the version of the round with the materially different math, where every Multiplier sphere carries a minimum value of 10x, is documented as reachable only through purchase at 500x the current total bet. Control over that mode is real but entirely transactional, and the game never pretends otherwise: the button sits in the left panel with its price printed on it.
